Job Title: - Power Economist

Ref No: - KETRACO /9A/11/01

Responsibilities: -

• Carry out economic analysis of a) power demand b) least-cost power, c) economic viability, and d) risk analysis of electricity transmission system;
• Carrying out research and development aimed at improving electricity transmission network.
• In liaison with KETRACO planning and design Engineers undertake an appraisal and optimisation of the transmission system/network.
• Liaise with other Energy sector players involved in operations of transmission network.
• Coordinate planning with other players in the East African Power Pool and regional markets.

Qualifications and Competencies: -

1. Must have at least a Master’s degree in Electrical engineering;
2. Must have been exposed to Project Management for at least five years; and
3. Those with experience in load flow analysis and power system planning, particularly with hands on experience in application of the Power System Simulator for Engineers (PSSE) software will have an added advantage.
4. Must be competent, articulate, able to work without supervision, meet strict deadlines and cope with intense work pressure.
5. Must have good communications, analytical and presentation skills
