Job Title: - Communications Officer
Location: - Nairobi

Job Purpose: -
The Resource Mobilization Officer will take a lead role in identifying and sourcing for To provide, critical support in the knowledge dissemination and knowledge transfer activities within CREAW. The officer will assist in the development of and support the realisation of objectives and targets related to CREAW’s Internal and External communications in a professional, efficient and effective manner.

Key Roles & Responsibilities: -
  • Prepares annual reports for CREAW that span CREAW’s activities . In consultation with the management team and program officers, the communication officer will develop the report structure , liaise with graphics designer , perform copy –editing and coordinate printing and dissemination
  • Coordinate production of information Education and Communication materials (IEC), and publications. A key focus will be work on women human rights to disseminate research findings and publications.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of a communication strategy for CREAW that increases exposure of the range of CREAWS programs activities to national and international scholarly organizations , government and non –government and non –profit organizations.
  • Provide ongoing coordination of CREAW’s website and web portal , including preparing and updating content , review content requests , and coordinating updates with CREAW’s webmaster.
  • Respond to Email and phone requests to provide information and resolve any concerns or issues .
  • Manage and catalogue CREAWs database of pictures and coordinate updates when required, use of pictures, obtaining parental approvals and filling of pictures on shared drive and maintaining media files, maintains files from CREAW’s presentations.
  • Coordinate production of organizational communication tools e.g. staff business cards , letterheads , notepads e.tc

Academic Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Personality Desired: -
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in communication or other relevant area of study in science with proven experience in public relations, publicity, and media relations journalism.
  • Masters degree will be an absolute advantage.
  • Will have at least 2 years of relevant working experiences, preferably in a women related organization in a similar position.
  • Technical training in project management will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office skills.
  • Demonstrate design management of publishing, website and communication product development.
  • Working experience in project management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work comfortably and effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds and to establish and maintain constructive working relations in multi –cultural environment.
  • Must have excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Have a personal commitment to work as reliable, honest and trustworthy team member.
  • Good judgement, tact, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the overall objectives, mission and goals of CREAW operations.
